| Abstract | This works refers to the use of the remote sensing technology and of a Geographic Information System (GIS)for the analysis the physical environment, in view of an environment evaluation of coastal areas, precisely in part of north littoral of Pernambuco, Brazil. Relevant information is extracted from the interpretation of TM/LANDSAT 5 sensor images. The relevant information includes main variables influencing the physical features of the environment. These information are integrated and classificated through a Geographic Information Systems. On such information base corrective and preventive measures can be anticipated for equilibrium of the environment of this area. |
